no getting past

I drove through Roswell
Without being taken
I went through the desert
Without even bakin’

I became a cowboy in Texas
With my sandals still unlaced
But you stopped me where I was
The first time i saw your face

There’s no getting past you
Not that I’d really want to
There’s no sense missing
This singular kind of blessing
There’s no getting past you

I sped through a sleepy town
And never got busted
I left it all out in the rain
And nothing ever rusted
I took a sloppy shot
And still got to hear the swish
But I can’t get away
From feeling just like this

There’s no getting past you
Not that I’d really want to
There’s no sense missing
This singular kind of blessing
There’s no getting past you
